Tourism Port Hardy
Approximately six years ago the District of Port Hardy formed a steering committee to advise council on tourism initiatives, coordinate marketing activities between the District and the Port Hardy Chamber of Commerce and look into new avenues to promote the region (i.e. signage, advertising, travel shows, etc.).
That committee has evolved into Tourism Port Hardy, which has been tasked with the role of managing the funds collected through the implementation of a 2% Hotel Tax (in addition to the Accommodation Tax collected province-wide).
Tourism Port Hardy is led by an active committee of Port Hardy hoteliers and a volunteer coordinator who recommend a marketing plan to the District of Port Hardy and are then tasked with the role of implementing the plan.
